Office Visits

Our greatest goal is to give you the healthy, straight, and beautiful smile you’ve always wanted. We understand that choosing to receive orthodontic care is a big decision, and we respect your reasons for wanting to improve the way you look and feel.

Our practice will work with you every step of the way to make sure your orthodontic care is as rewarding as possible. We utilize the latest technology, and offer a variety of safe and gentle treatment options to give you the customized, individual care you deserve.

Every smile starts with an initial consultation!

Your initial consultation will give you the opportunity to meet our team, learn more about orthodontics, receive a complete initial exam, and find out which treatment options will best meet your needs. During your initial consultation, we will:

  • Review your dental and medical history forms
  • Perform a complete oral exam, with intra-oral photos, to determine whether treatment is necessary
  • Help you create a customized treatment plan
  • Discuss all financial information, insurance options, and payment plans

Our team will be glad to answer any questions you may have, and we will provide all the information you need to determine which treatment is right for you. We may even be able to place braces that same day. Please contact our practice to schedule your initial consultation.

What happens after the initial consultation?

You’re one step closer to achieving the smile you’ve always wanted! After your initial consultation, we will take records and then schedule your first appointment where one of our doctors will place your new orthodontic appliance. This appointment generally takes about an hour, and during this time our team will be available to make sure you are as comfortable as possible.

Scheduling Appointments

Our appointment system is designed to provide you the best experience during your orthodontic treatment. Orthodontic force systems must be adjusted and monitored every 5-8 weeks for treatment to proceed as planned. Some of your office visits will inevitably conflict with work or school. It is our goal to balance your need for regular appointments and minimize missed school and work hours.

Appointments:

We strive to see you at your scheduled appointment time. Your time is valuable-it should not be wasted sitting in our reception area. Please check-in prior to your scheduled appointment time.

We reserve enough time for you at each appointment to complete the necessary adjustment, plan your next visit, discuss treatment progress and answer questions.

Because our schedule is carefully planned, arriving late or missing your appointment can cause difficulties. We often cannot fit a late arrival into the schedule. We may need to reschedule your appointment unless there is an opening in the schedule that we had not expected.

If you miss an appointment, please call as soon as possible to reschedule. Since the after school and work hour appointments are scheduled 5-8 weeks in advance, your preferred times may not be available for appointment changes.

Your Treatment Time:

Orthodontic treatment proceeds in stages. Some of your appointments will be very short and other appointments may include longer procedures. We will do our best to estimate the length of your next appointment.

Please be aware that repeated missed or cancelled appointments along with excessive breakage of the braces or appliances can add significantly to treatment time.

We will schedule longer appointments during school and work hours and shorter appointments before or after school and work. This allows us to provide you the most opportunity to schedule short appointments before or after school and work.

Braces Repairs and Urgent Care Appointments

If you notice a loose brace or broken wire -- please call us prior to your regular appointment. we will appoint you as soon as necessary. We cannont always repair broken appliances at your regular adjustment appointments. We will most likely need to appoint you between 9am and 2pm.

Visiting the dentist during orthodontic treatment

It is vital that you continue to visit your family dentist once every six months for teeth cleanings and routine dental checkups, even during your orthodontic treatment. If extra dental care is needed, we will be happy to coordinate with your family dentist to make sure you receive the best possible care.
